10-28 January 2006

I decided to go to Cuba at the last moment and without a route. I just followed the advices of a book and my instinct. The first days have been a bit hard, because I was alone and I was in such a different country. Walking in the city and sighting, these places full of history,it has become in a way a spiritual holiday, with a lot of time for meditating. Then when I started to meet people, my vacation turned in real amusement.

LA HABANA

I visited the colonial city, with the old cathedral and the bar "Boteguita del Medio"; the fortresses; the promenade "Malecon"; and the places became famous after the Revolution, like the famous "Plaza de la Revolution" and the Capitolium; the Chinese district; the necropolis; and the central zone.

SANTA CLARA

Santa Clara has a frenetic life, expecially in the central square, but is is popular for the Monument of Ernesto "Che" Guevara and for the armoured-train.

TRINIDAD

My favourite place in Cuba, in this city you feel 100 years back, because of the architecture and the style of living. I have met great friends, like the turists Huseyin and Alessandra, and the Cubans Magela, Yuniesky, Enrique and Katia. I did a great excursion in the sugar farm of Iznaga, horse-riding, on the beach, and dancing salsa at the House of Music.

VIŅALES
