KRAKOW - LUBLIN
12-20 February 2004

The excuse for this trip was to recover my car, Audi 80, that had been stolen almost one year ago abroad, and that the police had found in Wieliczka. That was the mission!!!

I quickly found a volunteer to come with me in Poland, he was my friend Alessando.

The trip, with the car (Fiat Punto) of my mother was quite hard: in the night, with a snow-storm, without a map; we spent 15 hours but we arrived in Krakow!

  On the way...

First thing to do in Krakow was to contact the police to have the possibility to see my car (it was quite complicate, in fact nobody spoke in English nor Italian), then we did see-sighting.

KRAKOW: The main square    Rynek Glowny

Saints Piotra i PawŁa church        Monument of the dragon

The Wawel castle           The cathedral inside the castle

   The wall near Florianska gate

The nightlife is nice, with a lot of pubs and clubs underground in the city-centre and nice bars in the district of Kazimierz. There one night we met a nice group of Erasmus students: some girls from Sicily, two boys from Spain and the Italo-Swiss Emanuela. Since she speaks polish, she helped me in the communication with the mechanic that had to repair my car, she was really kind!

When the problem of the car was solved, we decided to go in Lublin to visit our friend Matteo.
Lublin is an universitarian city, so it was not difficult to have fun, we really enjoyed the nightlife, clubbing all the 3 nights we spent there, eating "pierogi" and drinking a lot of beers.

Ratusz and Brama Krakowska  The cathedral
LUBLIN: the main monuments

The  castle  Zamek     View of the city

from the Catholic University!!!

The last part of this story was to come back in Italy with the 2 cars, we had some problems at the borders (4 hours at the Slovakian), but we did it: a great adventure!!!

My car is safe and sound!!!
